Who do I call to get our utility services hooked-up?
There is not a one-stop utility authority in Greencastle. You must contact the individual services separately. A list is available on this site at “Utilities”.
I can’t find the fire department in the phone book. What is it called and where is it?
The Rescue Hose Company No. 1 is headquartered at 842 South Washington Street.
For non-emergency events or information, please call 597-8489.
In case of an emergency, dial 911.
Where can I get a Pennsylvania drivers license?
You have 60 days to obtain your PA license. The nearest PennDOT office is located at 190 Mill Road in Chambersburg (about 10 miles north of Greencastle). You can find more information about registering your vehicles and obtaining a valid Pennsylvania license at www.dmv.state.pa.us
Does my dog need a license?
Yes. Pennsylvania state law requires any dog three (3) months of age or older to have a current dog license.
Dog licenses are valid from January 1st to December 31st of the current year, even if purchased late in the year. Visit the PA Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement website for more information and a copy of the application.
Mail the completed application along with your check/money order to the Franklin County Treasurer's office at the Old Courthouse
157 Lincoln Way East,
Chambersburg, Pa 17201.
Applications are also available at the Borough office and at the G-A Chamber of Commerce office.
In what school district is the Borough of Greencastle located?
Greencastle-Antrim School District. The administration office address is 500 E. Leitersburg Street, Greencastle, PA 17225 (717-597-2187). The school board meets the first and third Thursdays of each month.

How do I register to vote?
Qualifications for Voter Registration -
- Be a citizen of the US for at least one month before the next election
- Be a resident of PA and your election district for at least 30 days before the next election
- Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next election
Qualifications of Voters at a Primary -
Pennsylvania has a closed primary, which means a voter must declare himself a member of a major political party and vote only for candidates of that party. Currently in Pennsylvania the major political parties are Republican and Democratic. However, all registered voters are entitled to vote on questions placed on the ballot or in special elections held concurrently with a Primary. Electors may change their party affiliation beginning the day after each election.

Call the Voter Registration Office at (717) 261-3886 and ask them to send a voter registration form through the mail.
E-mail a request to voter@co.franklin.pa.us and leaving your name and mailing address.

You may register to vote at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Office when applying for or renewing your driver’s license.
Access the form and instructions on the Department of State’s web site at www.dos.state.pa.us. The form cannot be filled out nor submitted on-line. The applicant must download, print, complete and mail the form to the Franklin County Voter Registration Office, 157 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Deadline for Registering to Vote - The deadline for in-person voter registration is 30 days prior to each election. Registration-by-mail forms must be postmarked no later than the voter registration deadline in order to be processed for the upcoming primary or election.
Change of Name, Address and/or Party Affiliation - A voter may change their name, address and/or party affiliation at any of the above-listed locations. The dates to make changes to your voter registration are the same as the dates to register to vote.

Check your voter registration card or contact the Voter Registration Office at 717-261-3886. In the Borough of Greencastle there are two polling locations:
019-Greencastle One - Grace United Church of Christ, 128 E. Baltimore Street
020-Greencastle Two - Greencastle Church of the Brethren
Annex Building ,36 S. Carlisle Street
Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
